A cedar barrel sauna at The Ravines, a wood-lined room with a window to the trees at The Overhang. In winter the walk from the sauna to the night air is the whole reason to come.
Two
Water.
A hot tub on every deck, each facing the river. Towels rolled, glasses out, nothing to set up and nowhere to be.
Three
Fire.
A fire table on the Ravines deck, a fire bowl on the Overhang bluff. This is where most nights end.
Four
Quiet.
Both houses sit above the Rock River behind mature trees, with no neighbors in the frame. First light on the water is the part people remember.
